How to install and start using AI HTML to Blocks Importer. If this is your first time, follow this guide.
System requirements
- WordPress 6.0 or higher
- PHP 7.4 or higher (8.x recommended)
- No external communication required (completed within the server)
Installation Steps
- Prepare the ZIP file you downloaded after purchase
- WordPress admin → "Plugins" → "Add New" → "Upload Plugin"
- Select the ZIP file and click "Install Now" → "Activate"
Once activation is complete, "AI HTML to Blocks" is added to the "Tools" menu in the admin.
Basic Usage (3 Steps)
- Tools → AI HTML to Blocks , open it and enter a title
- Paste HTML into the text area, or upload an HTML file
- Click "Create Draft" → fine-tune the generated draft in the block editor and publish
Recommended Settings
- Exclude header/footer: ON (recommended) — Excludes the header and footer and imports only the content section
- Fallback (allow HTML block): ON (recommended) — Keeps hard-to-convert sections as HTML blocks to prevent breakage
- Block set: Auto (recommended) — Automatically selects the optimal block set for your environment
Common Problems and Solutions
If a block warning appears after conversion — Select "Attempt Block Recovery" from the block menu. In most cases this resolves it.
If the layout breaks — Styles that depend on external CSS are not carried over during conversion. Adjust them with your theme's CSS or the Customizer. The SWELL theme in particular can be expected to reproduce them with high fidelity.
How to Update
An update notice appears on the "Plugins" page in the admin. You can update with one click using the same procedure as a regular plugin. For major updates, we recommend checking the changelog before updating.
